Behaviour & Rewards

The Progress Teams at Dame Elizabeth are designed to enable all students to receive outstanding pastoral and academic support; enabling them to believe, aspire and realise their potential. Our core values are centred around a true belief that every child matters and that everyone has a positive contribution to make to themselves and to others. We work to ensure all pupils are able to stay safe, healthy, are able to enjoy and achieve excellence during their 7 years with us; enabling them to progress into further education, higher education and/ or employment with success and an intrinsic drive to always be the best that they can be,
In order to achieve their full potential, all students need to be in school and on time. Our attendance record is improving quickly in all three teams and it is important that this is maintained and of course further improved. Those whose attendance is above 98% have greater opportunities in building bonus points that can either be cashed in or saved for items from our new rewards shop that has proved to be very popular with our pupils at Dame Elizabeth. Our pupils have already started to use their points to purchase ‘jump the queue passes’ at lunch and ‘non-school uniform’ days. Some pupils have purchased footballs and memory sticks with their points too.
The system enables Achievement Leaders to celebrate a host of successes that contribute to outstanding learning and progress. Pupils who work hard, attend well and behave in lessons make excellent progress which is shown in their assessment grades and are recognised through weekly assemblies, postcards home and a Rewards Trip to an event such as the cinema or Alton Towers. The ultimate prize being an actual iPad for one deserving pupil at the end of the year in Christmas. Pupils are also going to be recognised for incremental points achieved throughout the year with specific certificates and lapel colours, more information will be given in the up and coming weeks.
The three houses compete to be the best, with every students making their own important and valued contribution. Houses battle it out for a range of trophies at the end of each term. Please do not hesitate to contact your child's Form Tutor or a member of the Achievement Team.
