Faculty Leader: Miss Raine
Our faculty believes all students should be encouraged to develop the skills necessary to tackle all kinds of mathematics in the real world. Our staff share their passion for maths by giving opportunities for students to blossom through engaging in activities that promote independent learning. Confident and happy, they will be active and enthusiastic in their own learning, acquiring skills through trust, collaboration and leadership. We aim to provide a positive community in which students are empowered to explore the awe and wonder of mathematics, inspiring them to make the most of opportunities and reach out towards their own future.

Curriculum & Assessment Details
EDEXCEL- Mathematics GCSE (9-1) 1MA1/1H (Linear Assessment) Assessed by 100% Examination):
-
2 x Calculator Papers ( each 1 hour and 30 mins)
-
1 x Non-Calculator Paper ( 1 hour and 30 mins)
In subjects such as mathematics, where topics are taught in progressively greater depth over the course of key stage 3 and key stage 4, GCSE outcomes may reflect or build upon subject content which is typically taught at key stage 3.
There is no expectation that teaching of such content should be repeated during the GCSE course where it has already been taught effectively at an earlier stage.
GCSE mathematics should provide a broad, coherent, satisfying and worthwhile course of study. They should encourage students to develop confidence in, and a positive attitude towards mathematics and to recognise the importance of mathematics in their own lives and to society. They should also provide a strong mathematical foundation for students who go on to study mathematics at a higher level post-16.
